Dear Friends,
Join us for our 16th annual “End of the Summer All Church Camp” over Labor Day weekend. Everyone is invited: singles, couples—all ages. Last year over 120 people traveled to Ocean Park, the United Methodist Church Camp on the Washington Long Beach Peninsula (2.5 hrs away). It is a wonderful place to relax, play, share and eat!! It is a very safe environment for children. There are a variety of accommodations available.
LODGING: Please list your preference in lodging options on the attached form. Options include camping, RV sites and cabins. I will do my best to honor your choices, but I may have to make adjustments depending on the demand. Prior to the weekend, you will receive in the mail a verification of your deposit and reservation, remaining fees due and directions to Ocean Park.
FOOD: Most food is already purchased so all you are asked to do is bring two potluck dishes (1 salad/1 dessert) as well as help prepare and clean up for a meal. Feel free to bring personal snacks for your family or items to share with others.
ACTIVITIES: Organized activities are at a minimum since the beach offers so much all by itself. We encourage you to bring your favorite items for spontaneous fun. One favorite activity however, is the “No Talent Show” on Sunday evening. In addition there is time to play cards, nap, fellowship with friends and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Weather permitting, the Zip Line rides will be available again this year (for a $10 fee/per person/per ride).
COST: The Ocean Park staff maintains the most reasonable prices possible. Over the past seven years there have only been minimal increases and we are grateful. The fees are on the registration form and include lodging, food and recreation prices. However if this year’s cost prevents you from joining us, please contact me for a partial or full campership. This is a time of fellowship that we don’t want anyone to miss due to financial concerns. Please note the following:
RV Fees: In 2008 there will be a new capacity limit for RV's. Each RV will be $15 per night for up to 2 people. Any additional people will be $5/night.
Additional days: The same daily rates apply for additional nights of lodging. Please check with me if you are requesting additional days at Ocean Park so the availability of your desired housing can be confirmed.
TRANSPORTATION: The church van will be available for transportation. Please indicate you would like a ride on your application form.
