Sunday Classes

At Vancouver First, we believe that engaging your mind is an important step on our Christian journey. Most Sunday morning classes start at 10:00am (any time changes are noted below). Most classes are located on our lower level. Please check the bulletin or the sign in the lower lobby for class locations. Our current course offerings for Sunday mornings are found below.

Children and Youth

• Children (preschool–5^th grade) will following the Live Big Methodist curriculum.

• Junior Highers (6^th-8^th grade) will meet on Sunday mornings in the Sr. High Youth Room for lively discussion of a variety of topics.

Senior High youth (^9th-12^th grade) will not meet on Sunday morning, but will have their spiritual formation discussions during their youth group meeting on Sunday evenings.

Adult

Seekers Class

The ongoing Seekers Class uses contemporary as well as classic books and video discussions to study the Bible and apply teachings to personal faith. This class provides a place for open discussion and debate of a variety of spiritual topics. The Seekers are now studying The First Paul, by Marcus Borg and John Crossan. This class, facilitated by Bob Hanley, meets in Hesseltine Hall.

Sacred Chaos: Spirituality for the Life You Lead

Life is often chaotic and no matter how hard we try to find space, to slow down, the chaos always seems to win. In the midst of a time of chaos and turmoil, we will learn to see and communicate with God in whole new ways.  Sacred Chaos will help awaken you to the reality of God’s presence in your life, just as it is, providing ways to pray, to listen to God, to view others the way God sees them, to be guided by God. God is not afraid of chaos. If a chaotic life has you running, run to God in the midst of it and discover the ways God can turn even chaos into something sacred. Facilitated by Becki Eichner this class meets in Hidden Chapel from 9:45-11:00am.
