Yoga Group
Have you ever wanted to try yoga? Now is your chance to practice in a casual and friendly atmosphere. Every Wednesday, from 5:30-6:30pm, a group meets in Hesseltine Hall to learn some yoga and fellowship together. The group also participates in community outreach projects and collections.
Knitting Group
This group meets at the church weekly on Mondays, 10:00-11:30am to knit together, enjoy good conversation, and serve the community. The group has people with years of knitting experience and others who are just learning. They are involved in several outreach projects including creating prayer shawls, a baby hat ministry, and “squares for Africa”, which sends miscellaneous squares to Africa for blankets and sweaters (the perfect solution for that left over yarn). If you are interested, just show up with your knitting needles and yarn in hand.
Hand Drumming
Our newest edition to the FUMC’s music scene, the Hand Drumming group meets on Wednesdays, from 5:30 – 6:30pm in our sanctuary and is open to all. Covering basic through advanced techniques, the time focuses on community, awareness and musicality. Come have fun and unwind. Learn about different cultures and discover the joy of musical expression. The group will perform from time to time during services and in the community for those who want to share the grooves! The class is co-sponsored by Collective Rhythm, a Portland area educational non-profit. Check them out at www.CollectiveRhythm.org .
