Youth Auction raises nearly $7,000 for summer mission trip to the Carolinas

The annual Vancouver First United Methodist Church Youth Auction was held March 23, in Jason Lee Hall, and nearly a hundred participants took part in the dinner and auctions.

With the theme of Hurricane of Love, youth from the church expressed their desire to be in mission to the Carolinas this summer to help hurricane ravaged areas rebuild. They will be traveling there in July.

Silent and live auctions provided visitors with the chance to bid and win items such as trips, gift cards, quilts, food, drink, gift baskets, and many handmade items. In the spirit, bidders helped raise nearly $7,000 through the auction.

They also enjoyed a “Carolina Surf and Turf” meal, complete with pulled pork, shrimp and grits, sweet tea, and other delicious bites from the South.
