HOME COMMUNION MINISTRY

September 28, 2011

Home Communion strengthens the pastoral care of the church to its elderly, disabled, and homebound members by making it more feasible for them to participate in the Lord’s Supper.  It also makes our celebration of the Lord’s Supper a strong sign of unity of the church by regularly including in the church’s communion those who are unable to gather on Communion Sunday with the worshiping congregation.

Vancouver First is fortunate to have six lay ministers who are trained to serve communion to those at home and in the hospital.  Communion will be brought to members during the first week of each month.  Is there someone you know who would like to receive communion?   Contact Becki by phone:  693-5881 or  by email: becki@vanfumc.org for more information.

Lay ministers and the church are thankful for the opportunity to share in this ministry.
