Caring

Caring Ministry at Vancouver First offers encouragement, practical resources and prayer to support the needs of all who are connected to Vancouver First.  Vancouver First is intentional about offering ministries to meet the needs ~ spiritual, emotional, physical and relational ~ of all that God brings our way. The Caring Ministry team is connected to a network of people who are dedicated to this ministry of caring for each other.

Service for Healing and Wholeness

Our Healing and Wholeness Service offers you the opportunity to come for prayer and anointing with oil for you own concerns or for the concerns of a loved one or friend. Please plan to come to the service to pray for others, to have the community pray for your special concerns, to pray for hurt and brokenness in the community, and for the brokenness in the world and is open to all in our community.

Healing Walks

Take a stroll through local neighborhoods this spring. Walks will focus on quieting our minds and strengthening our bodies. (This is not a group for power walkers.) We’ll meet on Mondays, April 16-May 22, 6:15-7:00pm. Our first meeting will begin at the church.

Grief Support Group

For you or someone you know who has experienced the loss of a loved one.

Our Grief Support Group will provide an opportunity for sharing of experiences of grief and loss in a safe, supported setting. Each session will offer a time of worship, support, education, and building a network of resources with others who have shared similar experiences. Sessions will be facilitated by Becki Eichner, Minister of Care at Vancouver First UMC.  Our next Grief Support Group will begin in April, 2012. We will  meet on Thursdays in Hidden Chapel, April 19-May 24, at 10:00am.

We are honored to pray with you.  Please click here to send a prayer request to our Pastoral Care Ministry.
