At Vancouver First, we believe that engaging your mind is an important step on our Christian journey. Most Sunday morning classes start at 10:00 a.m. (any time changes are noted below). Most classes are located on our lower level. Please check the bulletin or the sign in the lower lobby for class locations. Our current offerings are found below.
Activity Time (kindergarten and younger) – During May, kids in the Rainbow Room during worship services will be exploring the story of Moses. Any child, kindergarten and younger, is welcome to come by and participate in games, crafts, and stories. We look forward to seeing you there!
Preschool – Our preschool class uses Grow, Proclaim, Serve! curriculum on Sunday mornings. This curriculum combines Bible stories, crafts, and games into a full faith experience each week. By having fun, the kids are able to pay attention and really focus on the message of the day. During May, come join the preschool class class as they learn “the community of believers was one in heart and mind.” (Acts 4:32) We will use crafts, games, stories and more to hear about the community of believers and those first called to be Christians. Come join the fun!
Children (kindergarten–5th grade) – The elementary kids will learn what it takes to “run the race.” Using Hebrews 12:1-2 as a guide, we will explore how we can ready both our mind and spirit for following Jesus. This will be an active month of stretching, running, sheering and learning as we sprint toward the goal line. We will all cap off the year of Sunday School by participating the the church’s Fit ‘n Fun at First event on June 1.
We will be meeting in Room 10, in the lower hall, at 10:00am each Sunday. Don’t miss out on the excitement!
Adult Class: The Seekers Class meets on Sunday mornings and uses contemporary as well as classic books and video discussions to study the Bible and apply teachings to personal faith. This class provides a place for open discussion and debate of a variety of spiritual topics. The Seekers are currently using a DVD series called Living the Questions. This series is hosted by two Methodist pastors and has several speakers discussing several different topic areas. This class, facilitated by Bob Hanley, meets in Hesseltine Hall.
