Worship Script for April 19th
Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh

Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh

This week as we continue to engage in making art as part of opening our creative energies and connecting with the divine, we will be making mosaics from paper.  Thank you to the office angels who have prepared this for us by cutting 3,000 squares!  Together, each little piece of effort and energy and gift makes something beautiful for God, and our mosaics will remind us of this. We will ultimately put all of our individual artworks together to create a large paper mosaic in our narthex. In times like these, when war is spreading and prices are rising, creating art is an act of hope. When we are scared or uncertain, claiming beauty is powerful. Scared creation doesn't deny the hardships of the now, it allows us to also acknowledge the holy potential all around us.  Coming up we will be sculpting, painting, and singing!

Blessings,

Pastor Eilidh

Songs of Resistance & Hope - Sunday, April 26, 2026

The Many.

Drawing on indie pop and gospel influences, The Many makes music to help give voice to
faith and doubt, questions and fears, laments and longings, music that speaks to a non-
violent God, a Jesus who is with us and for us, and to a Spirit that can't be easily defined or
controlled. It's music for a movement of resistance to hatred and division, for
reconciliation and restoration, and music that always reminds us "we are on this earth to
love."
The Many is an indie, eclectic music collective from Chicago singing music of faith and doubt,
hope and lament. Gospel, R&B, Pop, Singer/Songwriter. It's all in the mix. The members of The
Many come together around their shared love of music and commitment to honest expressions
of faith, peace-making, economic, racial and climate justice and LGBTQ+ inclusion.  The Many
sing original songs made for reflection, for protest, for healing and worship. They are songs
made for singing with each other, in churches, in living rooms, in basements and
bars…anywhere, everywhere… in spirit and in truth. With lyrics born from Scriptures, from
headlines, and from their own experience, this is not head in the clouds “worship music” - but
feet on the ground, heart in hands, scars revealed, wild and holy music of resistance and
reconciliation and restoration. Together, this unique group of musicians, songwriters, poets,
activists, uneasy prophets and unsaintly saints, remind us over and over again that we aren’t
alone, that God so loves every one of us, and that - we all belong here.
