Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh
I have been so sick this week. Many of you may have noticed the mask I wore at worship last Sunday, or the fact that I was moving at about 1/3 my normal zippy speed when walking. Now I just sound terribly croaky. have not been sick like this ever, (a fact my husband disputes). I slept so much, my cat was in heaven with all the opportunities to snuggle next to me. It is such a privilege and a gift to serve a church that honors rest and encourages me to take the time I need to recover. From Stephanie offering to read my sermon if needed, to people graciously letting me reschedule appointments, to thoughtful cards and emails, you all made it clear that you saw my humanity and honored the very real needs of my sick body. Sometimes we expect people to be avatars of their role. A superhuman icon of what ever it is we need be that a teacher, leader, spouse, parent. It is only when we allow for each other’s humanness to be seen that we get to real and deep community. I continue to learn new depths of the goodness and heart of this congregation, from amazing generosity to genuine grace and care that makes me know that God is moving in our midst and calling us forward into something beautiful. Thank you for supporting me this week and allowing me to heal. Blessings,
Pastor Eilidh |

Mondays with TomJoin us for "Why Did Jesus Have to Die?" by Adam Hamilton An excerpt from the Amazon synopsis: Despite the crucifixion’s central place in Christian faith, the New Testament offers few clear answers about how Jesus’ death saves, or why, exactly, he had to die. The New Testament writers use a host of metaphors―ransom, sacrifice, reconciliation, victory―but never explain exactly how it works or why it had to happen this way. For more infomation visit:
