Worship Script for February 15th
Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh

Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh

I am Scottish and so part of that is a natural bent towards frugality.   As I began to get my head around our church’s budget over the summer and fall I was astounded to find that we spend over $10,000 a year on printing. That’s a lot of money in the digital age. Along with many other deep dives on places in the budget, (why are we paying centurylink for phone lines we don’t use?) the leadership of the church started looking at ways to be more responsible with our resources.  One idea was to redesign the bulletin.  We had a lovely 4 page printing in color with a great layout, but did we really need to do that every week?  The purpose of the bulletin is two-fold.  One is to give folks an anchor for worship so they feel comfortable and connected.  The other is to share information about the church.  I have received some feedback of late that the bulletin is not helping people feel anchored in the service as the type is too small to see.  I have also heard some folks ask that the call to worship be printed as it can be hard to read the responsive portion on the screen.  Now is your chance! Bombard me with what you need to feel anchored in worship. We will be redesigning the bulletins again in the coming weeks as we hear from you.  As a church we will continue to work hard to meet the needs of our community while balancing a transparent approach to our budgeting.

We are on a journey together, thanks be to God!

-Blessings, Pastor Eilidh
