Worship Script for March 29th
Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh

Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh

My Lenten intention for this year was to walk 10,000 steps a day.  I did really well from Ash Wednesday through the beginning of March and then it all just fell apart. This past week the only day I made my goal was the day I was at Ocean Park scrubbing tables. I think my watch recorded some of that vigorous scrubbing as steps!  I am telling you this because it matters that we fall short. The good news is we can try again.  I used to walk 10,000 steps every day, but got out of the habit after starting here at Van 1st.  I wanted to do something I enjoy, but that took some effort so that every time I chose to do it I would reflect on God. Instead of choosing to walk I noticed I am choosing to lie down. And In those times I am setting aside time to stop scrolling on my phone or worrying or planning and to instead be thankful, reflective, and centered on God. My busy schedule might be changing the way I am approaching Lent, but I am trying to receive that with grace.  I feel so guilty that I have not been diligent with my steps and I am also so tired and need rest.  Trying to find balance with my expectations, promises, and capacity can be a hard thing. so I turn to God once again for guidance beyond the shoulds that so often get in my way,

We have a little more than a week left of Lent. However your Lenten practice has been I invite you to check in with yourself and with God for how you might spend these days with intention preparing for Good Friday and the wonder of all that is to come in Easter.

Blessings,

Pastor Eilidh

Help Care for Youth at Summer Camp

Help Care for Youth at Summer Camp
Ocean Park Camp is seeking a caring and organized person to serve as the health coordinator during our Middle/High School summer camp this summer. This role supports the well-being of campers by helping manage medications, reviewing health forms, treating minor ailments, and keeping a simple treatment log. Medical experience or a nursing license is welcome but not required—the most important qualities are compassion, attentiveness, and a heart for supporting young people. EMTs are nearby and a hospital is less than 20 minutes away.

If you or someone in your congregation might feel called to serve in this meaningful role, please contact Lacey Kelley, Director of Youth Ministries, at Director@CCMYC.com for more information.

Help Put a Bible in a Camper’s Hands

Help Put a Bible in a Camper’s Hands
This summer, Ocean Park Camp is working to provide age-appropriate Bibles for youth and children so campers can engage with scripture in ways that are meaningful and understandable. A gift of about $25 helps provide a Bible for a camper to use during their time at camp.

If you or your congregation would like to help sponsor Bibles for camp, please contact Lacey Kelley, Director of Youth Ministries, at Director@CCMYC.com for more information.
