This week we are painting together as we celebrate communion

This week we are experiencing another change in our life together.  After nearly two years, our Office Administrator Tabby is leaving. Her last day is this coming Friday, May 1st.  We appreciate the way Tabby brought energy and joy to the church and her care for our building.  

Now comes the question of what is next.  For the time being I will be taking over many of the functions of the office administrator with some tasks going to our Office Angels and others to lay leadership. This is temporary as we take some time to really reflect on what we need as a church and where God is calling us.  As we look at our budget, our needs, and our hopes what supports do we need for the work both systemically and through staffing?

If you would like to help out in the office as we enter this time of transition please let Mary Lookingbill or I know. If you have ideas for what you think we need as a church please let me know! A group of 15 folks, representing various parts of the church will be gathering in early June to pray, reflect, and talk strategy. We’d love to have your ideas to share in that space.

I ask for patience with me and with our Office Angels as we figure out how best to care for the life of your church over the coming weeks.  I ask your prayers for Tabby as she transitions to what is next for her.

Change can be hard, but together we will continue to faithfully follow God’s call for us here at Vancouver First.

We’re excited to kick off the XYZ Book Club—and to make it accessible for more people, we’re trying something new! For the first four months, we’ll offer two different meeting opportunities to fit a variety of schedules and preferences.

*Please Note: The May 17th event has been moved to June 7th!

Our children will lead us in worship followed by a pizza celebration.

We will be celebrating music on May 17th with lots of songs.  Now is the time to share your favorite songs or the ones we never sing.  Submit your requests with the button below!
