Worship Script for September 6th

Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh

This week I have been out of the office helping our daughter Paige get settled into her house in Savannah. Paige and her two roommates are not in the dorms this year and she is so excited to have her own home. She is looking forward to burning candles, having a bottle of wine in the cupboard (yes she and the others are all over 21) and most importantly having her car and her cat with her. While Paige and her dad took an 8 day road trip across the US to get her car to Savannah, I am flying out with Maple the cat. It is Sunday as I write this so I have yet to know what flying with a cat is like. It is true that being a parent has brought me lots of new experiences! Check in with me next time you see me for an update on how Maple and I survived. I am especially curious to see what our 90 minute layover in Dallas is like! Luckily she is cute and this adventure will make my daughter happy. When Paul wrote of sacrificial love I do not think this is what he envisioned, but I know that as part of a family we choose hard and weird things out of love. May you know that you are loved and that there are those who would fly a cat across the country for you too!

Lets Help Raise a Roof!

Our church carries a tradition of support for Evergreen Habitat for Humanity. Once again, we will sponsor a table at the annual Raising the Roof Breakfast. This is the biggest event of the year and an opportunity to learn about current projects to provide affordable home ownership in Clark County. All funds raised directly support local home ownership and repair programs. Will you join us this year?
