Scam Alert

Vancouver First United Methodist Church
Do not buy gift cards

Scam Alert

Today our faith communtiy was the victim of a large coordinated phishing campaign where an email was sent proporting to be from Pastor Eilidh.  These emails were not from her and the email addresses have been reported.  No one from the church will ever ask you to buy gift cards and send us the info, nor we will ever directly ask you for funds.   These kinds of scams are happening regularly to churches, hospitals, school districts, and others.  Scammers pray on the generosity and goodness of people who just want to help those in need.  We are so sorry this has happened.  Know that if you fell victim to this you can dispute the charges on your credit card, you should report it to our local police, and you acted with generosity. No one should feel bad for trying to help others, and it is the people running these that should be embarassed, not any of us!
