A Word From Friends of Trees:
Thank you so much for your interest in supporting our Westside Vancouver tree planting event. Your contribution will help us provide a rewarding lunch for the hardworking tree planting volunteers next Saturday!
Over at the Friends of Trees office, we've been busy preparing for next weekend's planting event. It's going to be a fabulous day! Mayor Anne is joining us, Relevant Coffee is providing caffeine for the day, and we'll be joined by our partners at Vancouver Bee Project. With the buzz around this event, there will be many mouths to feed via our shared potluck lunch.
This lunch is everyone's favorite part of planting day, hands down. Folks pack into a community space to warm up and share a meal after a long morning of tree planting. Below are the details for drop off/pick up, and a list of ideas to strike inspiration.
Please use our handy Potluck Planning Signup Sheet to let me know what you'd like to bring so we can plan ahead! Or you can let me know what you are bringing and we can populate the sheet for you.
Volunteer Role Details:
Date: Sat, 2/28/26
Location:  401 E 33rd St (Vancouver First United Methodist Church - Conrad Room)
Drop-off time: Breakfast items dropped off before 8:20am. Lunch items dropped off before 11 am. Please pick-up any dishware by 1:45pm.
What is needed?
‣ Lunch items: Hot dishes like Casseroles, Crock-pots of Soup or Chili, Pizza or even salads -- feel free to get creative! (We will have access to electrical outlets to keep crockpot dishes warm.)
Vegan/vegetarian/gluten free items are very welcome, and always needed!
‣ Breakfast/snack items: Baked goods such as pumpkin or banana bread, muffins, etc are popular amongst our planters! Grab-and-go snacks/fruit for volunteers to take with them are also a good contribution. We receive many bagels through Seize the Bagel, and donuts through Donut Nook, so we are mostly set on the breakfast front.
Labeling your items:
‣ It's best to label your dishware with your name and phone number so that we can get it back to you. Masking tape and sharpie markers is the way to go.
‣ You may also want to include the following information: Meat? (y/n); Dairy?  (y/n); Vegetarian?  (y/n); Vegan?  (y/n); Gluten-Free?  (y/n)
