Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh
This week I have been on a road trip with my husband through my last 3 east coast states, Delaware, Maryland, and West Virginia. My goal of visiting all 50 states before I turn 50 is just one state away, and we’ll be crossing that off the list in December. Travel is one of my favorite ways to restore and renew. It has been a very bust spring at church with celebrations, dinners, memorial services, art in worship, administrative changes, and more. Taking some time away is key for our continued ability to faithfully follow God’s call. While I love my work and get great joy from the tasks before me each day it is essential to rest and take breaks. We are made in a rhythm that requires sabbath. God rested and commands us to rest too. While the work of loving the world is never ending God asks us to take time to recover, time to enjoy the view and pick moments to take the long way. I’ll be glad to return to you this Sunday to celebrate all the goodness God is unfolding in our midst and I am forever grateful for the time to step away and adventure with my love. Blessings, Pastor Eilidh |
