Save Me a Seat!

Save Me a Seat!

Pastor Eilidh Encourages Us Move Closer

Save me a seat!

On Sunday, we had a pretty good turnout, but you wouldn't know it by looking at our YouTube video. For some reason, most of you like to sit in the back, as far away from me as possible.  While I don't take this personally and understand that some people prefer to sit towards the back so they can exit quickly and quietly if needed, it does mean that those checking out our church online don't really get a sense of the congregation. It turns out that people respond better to fuller-looking churches. So I am asking those of you who can, to move up. As you can see from the photograph, there is a lot of room where you can sit and communicate to people online that this is a hopping place! We want to share the goodness of this church with others, and being intentional about where we sit and how we present ourselves online is one small way we can encourage people to engage with us.

Blessings,

Pastor Eilidh

See What's Happening With Our Children's Ministry

Hello parents! We’re so excited to kick off a new Sunday School year with you and your kids! There’s a lot happening in our ministry, and we want to make sure you're fully in the loop.

This year, as our kids continue growing in faith, we’re excited to give them more opportunities to be part of the worship experience in meaningful ways. Here’s what our new Sunday rhythm will look like:

 2025 – 2026 Weekly Schedule Overview

1st Sundays

  • Kids begin in their classroom at 10:00 AM.
  • They will rejoin parents upstairs to take Communion during worship.
  • On the first Sunday of each new quarter, kids will assist as Communion Stewards, helping to serve the church.

2nd & 3rd Sundays

  • Kids begin in worship with parents at 10:00 AM.
  • Kids will lead the Call to Worship, then all join the Pastor for a Children’s Moment, giving them time to connect and get to know Pastor Eilidh.
  • Afterwards, Pastor Eilidh will walk them downstairs via the front side staircase to their classroom and class will begin at that time.
  • Pick-up is downstairs after service, as usual.
  •  Each child who is leading the Call to Worship will receive the script the Sunday prior, so they can practice with their parents at home.
  •  On these Sundays, please ensure your child is in the front pew so they can easily step forward when it's time to lead the Call to Worship.

4th Sundays

  • Kids begin in their classroom at 10:00 AM.
  • During worship, they will come upstairs to collect Tithes and Offerings and then bring the offering plates to the Pastor during the Doxology before returning to class.
  • Pick-up is downstairs after service, as usual.

5th Sundays

  • These are special, creative Sundays with a surprise twist!
  • For the first upcoming 5th Sunday, November 30th, we are having an Advent-ure Sunday. The kids will perform an Advent Skit to open the Advent season, sharing the Christmas story in a meaningful way.

Here are a few things coming up in our ministry . . .

 SEPT 7: Kickoff Sunday
Van First is hosting a fun kickoff with a sandwich bar and celebration in Jason Lee as we launch a new year of ministry! Mark your calendars and join us!

SEPT 7: Grow Curriculum Launch – “Timeless”
We’re starting a brand-new series called Timeless—our theme is time travel!
Scroll down in this email to learn more about this series.

 SEPT 7: Communion Sunday
Kids will start in class at 10:00 AM and join parents upstairs for Communion and remain with parents after.

 SEPT 14 & SEPT 21: Worship Sundays
Kids will start in worship with their parents at 10:00 AM.
Three awesome kids are leading the Call to Worship during these Sundays!
Want your child to lead in October? Let us know!
Kids will also join the Pastor for a Children’s Moment before heading downstairs for class.

SEPT 28: Tithes & Offering Sunday
Kids will start in class at 10:00 AM and come upstairs to collect offerings, present them during the Doxology, and then return to class.

OCT 5: Final Sunday of Timeless Series - Memory Verse Sunday
Kids will have the chance to recite the memory verse from our Timeless series and earn 100 Bible Bucks!

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart.”
—Ecclesiastes 3:11a (NIV)

TIMELESS: A 5-Week Series from The Old Testament on the Prophets

SERIES OVERVIEW: Time travel is such an exciting concept to imagine! If we could hop into a time machine and visit the past, we might be surprised by how much has changed—and how some things stay exactly the same. One thing we’d discover is that God’s love and faithfulness are timeless. In this 5-week series, kids will explore how God's messages to us never change, no matter the time or place. They’ll learn that God’s love is timeless, we can seek God any time, God is good all the time, God takes the time to forgive, and God is with us at all times.

Bible Bucks – New & Improved for This Year!

We’re updating our Bible Bucks reward system to better encourage and recognize the many ways kids grow, serve, and lead throughout the year! There are multiple ways your child can earn Bible Bucks, giving every kid the opportunity to shine in their own way.

 How to Earn Bible Bucks:

 Scripture Memorization

  • Each series will focus on one key verse.
  • If a child memorizes that verse by the end of the series (typically 4–5 weeks), they’ll earn 100 Bible Bucks.
  • Each month's scripture verse is attached for reference.

 Attendance

  • 10 Bible Bucks for being on time to class.
  • 100 Bible Bucks for attending every Sunday for a full month.

 Humble Service
Kids can earn 50 Bible Bucks when they serve in roles such as:

  • Communion Stewards
  • Leading the Call to Worship
  • Collecting Tithes and Offerings

 Participation & Character
Kids will be rewarded regularly for:

  • Active participation in class
  • Living out our “Following Jesus” guiding principles:
     Love like Jesus
     Obey like Jesus
     Forgive like Jesus
     Serve like Jesus
     Lead like Jesus

These rewards are given per instance, so kids have daily opportunities to be recognized!

Bible Bucks Rewards Table – Coming in June!

This school year, we’ll have one Bible Bucks Rewards Table—happening in June 2026, just before summer break. This gives kids all year to save, earn, and aim for some great prizes at the end!

This coloring book is brought to you by the creators of Grow Kids Curriculum. In it, you'll find more than coloring pages featuring stories, characters, lessons, and memory verses from the Bible!

What are you most excited about right now? Reply to this email and let us know!

We’re incredibly excited for what this new Sunday school year holds and grateful to be walking alongside you as we help our children grow in faith, leadership, and community. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Blessings To You All,

Teuila Kaumatule-Muli
