Thoughts from Pastor EilidhConnected to Wisdom I am so very fortunate to be traveling next week. I am part of Iron Sharpening Iron, which is a leadership development program for clergywoman through Princeton Theological Seminary. I get to spend the week with 23 other amazing clergywoman from across the US and Canada who represent an array of denominations. Over the course of a year we will meet together in person 3 times (We started in May of 2025) and over zoom each month we aren't in person. This session is all about finances and I am taking a couple of courses related to buildings and maintenance as well as to capital campaigns. This is all great preparation as we as a church work through our reserve study, which was a study to help us identify areas of need in our building. The first step has been to develop a capital campaign focusing on the organ and chancel. We still have a ways to go on that, but I know these classes and the input from my incredible cohort will help us! I am grateful for the time to be part of this leadership development and for the support of the Vancouver Foundation in paying for a portion of the cost of the program. The connection to others and to the wisdom of those at PTS only strengthens my ministry here and our church overall. Don't worry, I'll be back before next Sunday! Blessings, Pastor Eilidh For more infomation visit:

October is Compost Month!Join the Climate Change Group for October's Action Plan “The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it; the world and all who dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1) Decaying food (process minus oxygen) in landfills produces methane – a powerful greenhouse gas, 84 times more damaging than carbon dioxide. Solution? Compost that food! Composting ads in oxygen to the process and produces nutrient rich soil. Compost added to the gardens retain water, produces healthier plants and can even pull carbon dioxide out of the air (a process called carbon sequestration)! It’s Earth’s finest form of recycling.
