Thoughts from Pastor Eilidh
Sometimes God brings pieces into place that are surprisingly delightful. A few months ago a person connected to our church through family called me to ask how they might help families in need in our community. I gave them a few options and referrals and that was that, or so I thought. A month or so later at a missions team meeting Elizabeth Owen lifted up a specific need for families at her school to have access to a notary and sort of jokingly she asked me if I had anyone who would do that. And I said yes, I can find you someone to become a notary. So I researched what it took to be a notary and then reached back out to that curious volunteer. I explained the need, the requirements and offered to pay for the training and supplies through the pastor's fund. Before long she had reached out to a friend and now the two of them are volunteering to help families in need who need to notarize family plans, emergency paperwork, and other documentations. Tess and Jess come to the church office at set hours each week that are communicated through the schools to those who need this service. It’s a beautiful partnership of an articulated need, a willingness to serve, and resources shared for just this kind of impactful ministry. And I believe the only way this happens is when we listen to God and see possibilities together. Blessings, Pastor Eilidh |
